Vitinha has addressed the recent turbulent period with the Portugal national team, which was overshadowed by Cristiano Ronaldo leaving the squad's training camp in Denmark—despite four wins from four matches—and his subsequent statement criticising manager Jorge Jesus.
"Yes, it was definitely a bit of a turbulent international break, with a lot of emotions," he admitted to TNT Sports BR following Paris Saint-Germain's 4-2 victory over Manchester City.
However, the Portugal midfielder expressed his hope that the captain, who is currently facing disciplinary proceedings, can soon rejoin his international team-mates.
"For my part, I just hope everything gets resolved for the best, that he comes back, and that everything is fine. The truth is, I think we all want that. I hope that happens—that he returns and everything gets sorted out," he added.
