One Feared Dead As Spaceplane Crashes

Several reports state that the spaceplane is said to have crashed due to unknown causes during a test flight.

Virgin Galactic’s spaceplane - SpaceShipTwo has reportedly crashed.

Several reports state that the spaceplane is said to have crashed due to unknown causes during a test flight carried out hours ago, today, October 31, 2014. The spaceplane is also reported to have had two pilots on board.

A press conference will be held to shed more details on the mishap. Earlier in the day Virgin Galactic tweeted via its official account that their SpaceShipTwo spaceplane had experienced an “in-flight anomaly”

The status of both pilots are currently unknown. Unconfirmed reports state that one pilot has died, while the other is being treated with serious injuries.

SpaceShipTwo was designed primarily for space tourism, meant to carry passengers high enough to experience near-weightlessness for roughly $200,000 per ticket.
