The teenage Nigerian forward made his first appearance for the senior national team in the international friendly encounter between Nigeria and the Cranes of Uganda.

The pacy winger was in action for 45 minutes in his first-ever appearance for his countrybefore he made way for a senior colleague BordeauxSamuel Kalu.

Samuel was called up for the first time but was not in action in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against the Bafana Bafana of South Africa.

The LaLiga giants posted a message of encouragement to their youngster through their official Twitter account.

Chukwueze posted a picture of himself in action for the Super Eagles at the Stephen Keshi Stadium Asaba along with several emojis and the Nigerian flag.

Villarreal then responded saying, “Hopefully, that’s the first of many times we’ll be seeing you in the green shirt of your country Samu!.”

Samuel has been a revelation for Villareal in their campaign across the season with impressive performances in the Europa League, scoring on his Copa del Rey debut and also scoring his first La Liga goal against before he travelled for the international break.

Chukwueze represented Nigeria at age grade level where he won the 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Chile.

He is expected to be called up again when the Super Eagles play their last AFCON qualifier against Seychelles in March 2019.

Chukwueze who is rated among the top talents in La Liga is expected to return to action when Villarreal take on Real Betis Balompie in their next league fixture on Sunday, November 25.
