Chelsea star out of Super Eagles squad to face South Africa

Victor Moses is reportedly having a surgery this summer on a troubling toe.

Super Eagles boss Gernot Rohr on Wednesday, May 31 released his list for the qualifier which will be played on Saturday, June 10.

Moses played was sent off in the 68th minute of Chelsea’s 2-1 loss to Arsenal in the FA Cup final on Saturday, May 27.

A date later, he got married to his longtime partner in a ceremony in London.

He was expected to be included in the Super Eagles list to face South Africa in Uyo.

Although Rohr did not state why the 26-year-old has been excluded, some reports have it that Moses is set to have surgery on his toe.

China-based stars Odion Ighalo and Brown Ideye have also been left out.

The Nigerian-based duo of Stephen Odey and Sikiru Olatunbosun who are with the Super Eagles for their friendly games against Corsica and Togo have also been left out.

Zamalek defender Maroof Youssef is a surprise addition; Akwa United top scorer Alhassan Ibrahim, Henry Onyekuru of Eupen, ADO Den Haag defender Tyronne Ebuehi and 18-year-old Wolfsburg forward Victor Osimhen have also been included.
