Starting from pole position, the four-time world champion came under early pressure from Charles Leclerc but successfully kept the Ferrari driver at bay. The Dutchman then found his groove, delivering a metronomic drive to take the chequered flag 7.3 seconds ahead of runner-up Leclerc.

Verstappen (1), Leclerc (2), Antonelli (4), Norris (5), Piastri (6), Lawson (8), Bearman (11), Ocon (12), Sainz (13), Perez (17), Alonso (pit lane), and Stroll (pit lane) all opted to start on Pirelli's soft compound, while the rest of the field lined up on mediums.

Start – Leclerc made a brilliant launch off the line, but with the short run down to Turn 1, he was unable to make it stick, staying behind Verstappen who defended aggressively to retain the lead.

Lap 1/62 – By the end of the opening lap, Verstappen pulled out a 0.6s lead over Leclerc. Behind them in the points were Hamilton, Antonelli, Norris, Piastri, Lawson, Hülkenberg, Gasly, and Sainz, while Russell climbed two spots to 17th after dispatching both Cadillac cars.

Lap 2/62 – Having missed out at the start, Leclerc kept up the pressure on Verstappen in the battle for the lead, with the pair pulling nearly a second clear of Hamilton after two laps.

Lap 3/62 – Following a superb wheel-to-wheel scrap that lasted half a lap, Bearman moved up to 11th by overtaking his Haas team-mate Ocon. Meanwhile, Russell got past Bortoleto to take 16th position.

Lap 5/62 – Bearman continued to provide the entertainment, breaking into the points positions after pulling off a bold, late dive down the inside of Sainz into Turn 8 to seize 10th.

Lap 6/62 – At the front, Verstappen finally broke the one-second DRS window to Leclerc courtesy of a blisteringly fast middle sector. Further down the order, Russell made quick work of Albon and Colapinto to advance to 14th.

Lap 8/62 – Virtual Safety Car! Bortoleto ground to a halt with a mechanical issue just past the pit exit wall, triggering a brief race neutralization.

Lap 9/62 – Restart! Bortoleto's car was quickly wheeled away to safety, and green flags waved after less than a lap under yellow. At the restart, Leclerc was just half a second adrift of leader Verstappen and held a commanding 3.2s gap over team-mate Hamilton.

Lap 12/62 – Leclerc and the Ferrari pit wall began discussing strategy options, with the Monegasque driver asking to do the opposite of Red Bull.

Lap 14/62 – A sequence of strong laps allowed Verstappen to build a 2.6s gap over Leclerc, who sat 3.8s clear of team-mate Hamilton. Running right behind the Briton were Antonelli and Norris, with Piastri just in tow. The top six had pulled almost 15 seconds clear of Lawson in seventh. Further back, Russell had climbed to 12th, right behind the two Haas cars.

Lap 15/62 – Having started from the pit lane, Hadjar moved up to 15th after lunging past Lindblad with extremely late braking into Turn 16, resulting in a front-left lock-up for the Red Bull driver.

Lap 16/62 – Hamilton's pace on the medium compound proved underwhelming compared to Leclerc's, with the seven-time champion shedding half a second per lap to his team-mate. Over the radio, Hamilton voiced concerns about a lack of rear grip.

Lap 18/62 – Hamilton was the first of the front-runners to blink, diving into the pit lane for a switch to soft tyres and rejoining the track in seventh place, 2.8s behind Lawson.

Lap 20/62 – Armed with fresh rubber, Hamilton took just one lap to hunt down Lawson, completing the overtake under braking into Turn 14.

Lap 21/62 – When asked about the state of his soft tyres, Leclerc admitted he didn't think he could extend his stint much longer. He sat 6.7s behind Verstappen and held a 5.7s advantage over Antonelli, whose pace was noticeably quicker.

Lap 22/62 – Russell made a move on Ocon into Turn 16 to claim 11th place, sitting 2.8s adrift of Bearman in the final points-paying position.

Lap 23/62 – Antonelli headed into the pits for his stop, switching over to the medium compound. He rejoined 3.1s behind Hamilton, whose softs were already five laps old.

Lap 24/62 – Leclerc covered Antonelli's stop by pitting on the next lap, also switching to the medium tyre. The Ferrari driver rejoined just ahead of team-mate Hamilton, 14.3s behind Piastri.

Lap 27/62 – Hamilton, running soft tyres, vented his frustration over the radio about being held up behind Leclerc on the mediums. The Monegasque responded immediately by clocking the fastest lap of the race.

Lap 28/62 – Despite Leclerc picking up his pace, Hamilton continued to voice his discontent at being stuck behind his team-mate, unable to maximize the advantage of his softer rubber.

Lap 29/62 – Gasly, running ninth just ahead of Bearman and Russell, pitted for a set of soft tyres. A lap earlier, Ocon made his stop from 12th position.

Lap 31/62 – At the halfway mark, Verstappen held a commanding 19.3s lead over Norris, who led team-mate Piastri by 3.3s, with none of the top three having stopped. Leclerc led the group of drivers who had already pitted, sitting 6.3s behind Piastri. Meanwhile, Colapinto retired with a mechanical problem, prompting a localized yellow flag in Turn 7 without the need for a full neutralization.

Lap 32/62 – Antonelli reported feeling fluid around his feet over team radio. At the same time, Verstappen and Norris both boxed for fresh medium tyres. Verstappen retained the lead by 1.5s over Piastri, while Norris emerged in sixth, 9.9s behind Antonelli.

Lap 33/62 – Piastri came in for medium tyres, rejoining 5.5s behind Norris after a slightly delayed stop caused by an issue fitting the front-right wheel.

Lap 35/62 – With all the front-runners having pitted, Verstappen led Leclerc by 5.0s, with Leclerc holding a 2.1s cushion over team-mate Hamilton. Antonelli trailed 4.4s behind the Briton, while Norris sat 9.3s adrift of the race leader.

Lap 37/62 – Antonelli received a black-and-white warning flag for track limits violations after exceeding the circuit boundaries for a third time.

Lap 39/62 – Virtual Safety Car! Stroll pulled over with a failure just after Turn 14, triggering the second VSC period of the race. The Canadian parked safely next to an opening in the barriers. Leclerc and Antonelli capitalized to make their second pit stops; Leclerc rejoined third behind Hamilton, while Antonelli dropped behind Norris. Russell also pitted for his first scheduled tyre change.

Lap 40/62 – Restart! The race resumed just as Russell pulled into his pit box, preventing the Briton from taking full advantage of the neutralisation. He rejoined in 10th place, closely following Hülkenberg and Gasly in eighth and ninth.

Lap 42/62 – Under green-flag conditions, Piastri pitted for a second stop to bolt on soft tyres after suffering a puncture just seven laps into his previous stint. Meanwhile, Antonelli reported experiencing serious brake issues on his car.

Lap 43/62 – Hamilton also reported braking difficulties, but the Ferrari pit wall assured him that all telemetry data looked normal.

Lap 45/62 – Armed with vastly fresher rubber, Leclerc rapidly closed in on Hamilton, bringing himself right onto the tail of his team-mate. Hamilton received a clear instruction not to lose time fighting Leclerc.

Lap 46/62 – Hamilton let Leclerc through on the approach to Turn 7. The Monegasque sat 14.4s behind leader Verstappen, whose medium tyres were seven laps older than Leclerc's softs.

Lap 47/62 – Russell moved up to ninth with a move on Gasly into Turn 7. Gasly had repelled an attack into Turn 16 on the previous tour, but had no answer this time around against the Mercedes driver.

Lap 48/62 – Another track limits violation was recorded for Antonelli, leaving the already-warned Italian staring at an imminent five-second time penalty. Fortunately for him, he held a safe buffer of over 23 seconds back to Piastri.

Lap 50/62 – A difficult lap from Verstappen saw him drop 2.3 seconds to Leclerc, slashing the gap between the top two down to just over 10 seconds.

Lap 51/62 – Verstappen steadied the ship, conceding just 0.9s to Leclerc, with the majority of the time lost coming in the technical second sector. Verstappen's efforts were also hampered by intermittent radio issues with the Red Bull pit wall, forcing driver and engineer to improvise.

Lap 53/62 – With nine laps remaining, Verstappen led Leclerc by 8.8s, while Leclerc sat 17.0s clear of Hamilton. The Briton was forced into heavy defensive driving, with Norris and Antonelli—who had yet to serve a penalty—closing in right behind.

Lap 54/62 – Norris launched an aggressive move on Hamilton into Turn 1; the Ferrari driver cut across the run-off area, while Norris lost significant momentum running wide. Antonelli seized the opportunity, passing Norris before making light work of Hamilton with superior drive out of Turn 14 to clinch the position before Turn 16.

Lap 55/62 – The stewards opened an investigation into Hamilton for the way he defended against Norris at the start of Lap 54. Meanwhile, Norris swept past Hamilton into Turn 10, though spending that extra half lap behind the Ferrari cost the McLaren driver over four seconds to Antonelli.

Lap 56/62 – At the front, Verstappen stabilized his pace after a few uncertain laps, maintaining an 8.8s cushion over Leclerc. Leclerc led Antonelli by 20.3s, with the Italian 5.4s clear of Norris.

Lap 60/62 – As the race entered its penultimate lap, Verstappen held a 7.9s advantage over Leclerc, who was comfortably 17.5s ahead of Antonelli. Further back, Piastri had caught Hamilton in the scrap for fifth place.

Lap 61/62 – Struggling on heavily worn tyres, Hamilton was powerless against Piastri, who completed an inside pass into Turn 16 following a strong exit from Turn 14.
