Verbal Spat Ignites Emotions: Neymar Provokes Norwegian Goalkeeper – "Where Should I Kick It?"
Norway secured their spot in the World Cup quarter-finals, largely thanks to Erling Haaland, whose two goals eliminated one of the tournament favorites. Carlo Ancelotti's side only managed to pull one back in stoppage time, with Neymar converting a penalty in the 100th minute. However, it was too late to truly turn the tide.
Just before taking the penalty, the 34-year-old Brazilian engaged in a verbal spat with Norwegian goalkeeper Ørjan Nyland, attempting to unsettle him with psychological tactics. Their exchange was captured by television cameras.
"Where should I kick it?" Neymar shouted.
"I'll save it, I'll save it," Nyland retorted.
"Are you sure?" the Brazilian pressed.
After scoring, before celebrating with his teammates, Neymar ran up to the Norwegian goalkeeper and told him: "Not with me, not with me."
This particular exchange became one of the most talked-about moments after the match. While some fans considered Neymar's behavior part of the game, others criticized it as unnecessary provocation.
Brazil's World Cup journey thus ends, while Norway celebrates a surprising progression to the quarter-finals, where Ståle Solbakken's squad will face England on Saturday evening.
