USA vs. Belgium Match Sets New Record for Most-Watched Football Broadcast in US History
The USA's Round of 16 clash against Belgium at the World Cup has set a new record as the most-watched football broadcast in American history, Fox television announced after preliminary ratings were released.
Fox reported that 30 million viewers tuned in for the match, which saw Belgium secure a 4-1 victory in Seattle.
This win propelled Belgium into the quarterfinals, eliminating the last of the three tournament co-hosts: the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
All World Cup matches are broadcast live on bnt.sportal.bg. The platform will stream all 104 games from the 2026 World Cup schedule in real-time.
At its peak, the audience surpassed 36.8 million viewers. This figure eclipsed the previous record, set by the United States' match against Bosnia and Herzegovina last week, which Fox reported drew 26.4 million viewers.
