Taking Afrobeat To The Cinema

Friday 3rd of October marked the unveiling of the much anticipated movie ‘Urban Rhythm’. Filmed two years ago, it was definitely worth the wait as it was met with a lot of outstanding reviews and comments. The audience were glued to their seats as they watched the new UK based talents do their thing on the big screen.

The movie revolves around an urban artist who suddenly finds himself in need of a defence lawyer when charged with a petty crime. Sean who works for a private law firm is assigned to the case. With the stakes so high they go on an Afrobeat journey.

Produced by Yinka Kuponiyi and directed by Michael Ibiayo, Urban Rhythm stars Lateef Lovejoy, Material, and Gabriel Rinu.
