Carlos Ulberg delivered one of the most impressive knockouts in UFC history, dismantling Jiri Prochazka in the very first round, despite injuring his knee early in their bout. The New Zealander achieved this stunning victory in the main event of UFC 327, which took place in Miami earlier today.
Right from the opening bell, Ulberg landed awkwardly, and his knee buckled. Prochazka immediately pounced, attempting to capitalize on the injury. However, with a quick step back and a perfectly timed left hook, Ulberg connected squarely on Prochazka's chin, sending the Czech fighter crashing to the canvas. Ulberg then followed up with ground-and-pound, forcing the referee to stop the fight.
“My knee gave out. I never counted myself out. I just needed one shot, and I landed it. Now I need to fix my knee, but I’m a champion. King Carlos, baby! I told you everything would change! I am the new king of the division!”
Here’s how former champion Jiri Prochazka commented on the fight:
“Damn it, it happened. I felt sorry for him, I felt mercy. This is one of my biggest lessons. This fight was in my hands. I missed my chance because I saw he was injured. I will be back. Life is about learning and coming back better.”
