UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer has hinted at the possibility of declaring a national bank holiday should England emerge victorious at the FIFA World Cup.

The Prime Minister lauded the Three Lions' win against Mexico in the Round of 16 as "one of the best England performances he's ever seen." A victory over Norway this weekend would bring the nation closer to its first World Cup title in 60 years.

"I don't want to jinx it, but you can ask me again if we make it to the final," Keir Starmer responded when questioned about supporting a bank holiday if England were to win the tournament.

At this week's NATO summit in Ankara, the British Prime Minister playfully reminded his Norwegian counterpart, Jonas Gahr Støre, that England has only ever won the World Cup when his party (the Labour Party) was in power.

"We are good friends. The relationship between Norway and the United Kingdom is stronger than ever, and he is a key figure in the coalitions we are building. However, for 90 minutes on Saturday night, we will have to be rivals," Starmer stated.

He also clarified that he resisted calls to overturn defender Jarell Quansah's red card from the Mexico match, unlike Donald Trump, who reportedly pressured FIFA to revoke Folarin Balogun's suspension, preventing him from playing against Belgium.

"I can't tell you how many messages I received in the early hours of Monday about the red card. I hasten to add that I did not attempt to intervene," Starmer explained.
