Portugal's representation in the Roland-Garros qualifying rounds currently features confirmed entries for Henrique Rocha and Jaime Faria. Frederico Silva, however, has missed out and requires eleven withdrawals to join his compatriots in Paris.

Frederico Silva's situation, currently ranked 234th in the ATP, became significantly more complicated after his quarter-final defeat at the Oeiras Open 125. The match, lasting 3 hours and 18 minutes, proved crucial, as a third victory at Jamor would have secured his entry without relying on other results.

Now, the 32-year-old tennis player finds himself as the 11th alternate, meaning he must await an identical number of pull-outs to make a return to a Grand Slam tournament. His last appearance at an event of this magnitude dates back to September 2023, at the US Open.

In contrast, Henrique Rocha (118th) and Jaime Faria (136th) had their entries into the qualifying stage officially confirmed this week. Both will attempt to navigate this phase to join Nuno Borges, the only Portuguese player with direct entry into the men's main draw.

A year ago, Henrique Rocha achieved a historic feat by successfully navigating the qualifying rounds and reaching the third round, becoming the first Portuguese player to win five singles matches in a single Grand Slam edition. Jaime Faria, who had direct entry into the main draw, was eliminated in the first round.
