Even prior to the lockdown, social media has always been a haven for conversation and debate. Being separated from the world outside their homes has only made people retreat deeper into the virtual cocoon of social media, and by extension, conversations are increased, more heated and with a truckload of more engagement.

On this edition of Twitter NG hot takes, people are talking about parenting, the errors on the systems that raised them and projections for the upbringing of future generations.

All this was initiated by a viral video from Zambia, where a man was spanking and dealing hot slaps on his son who flunked badly at an expensive school. The man apparently paid $21k in tuition. That’s almost 8million in naira.

That’s quite a sum. And yeah, it’s more than enough to kick up a whirlwind of opinions on Twitter NG.
