As expected a lot of people were unhappy about this and refused to comply.

This resulted in the arrival of officials of the Kick Against Indiscipline (KAI) and the Police Rapid Response Squad (RRS), who proceeded to create queues, ensuring that everyone used the overhead pedestrian bridge.

Despite their best efforts, there has been a lot of traffic due to the large number of pedestrians.

Lagosians have taken to Twitter to vent.
