TPL holds this Saturday

It will be another session of fun and football as the Twitter Premier League holds this Saturday, September 5 at the Campos Mini Stadium on the Lagos Island.

The TPL is a football tournament that seeks to tap into the football loving passion Nigerians show on social media.

The inaugural TPL edition held on May 29 (Democracy Day) at Meadow Hall, Ikate Lekki.

The aim is to identify the fans who can back up their online football passion with talent.

The official slogan of the TPL is 'Don’t Just Tweet Football, Play Football'.

Six teams will be competing for top honors in the fifth edition of the a-day tournament that has grown in brand and popularity among youths in Lagos.

The Saints who won the last edition will be aiming to repeat the feat at the fifth TPL while the Red Devils who are two time champions, are seeking to assert their dominance once again.

The Blues and the Rebels have rebranded as The Royals and The Knights respectively in their quest to shake off their Almost Winners tags.

The Cubs, the breakout team of TPL 3, seek to remind the TPL fans of the quiet efficiency that rocked the TPL world in their inaugural participation.

Sterling Bank powered The Guns are also seeking to be champions for the time at the hugely anticipated TPL on Saturday.

Kickoff time is at 10 am  and tickets are already on sale at TheTPL.org/tickets as well as on the PayWithCapture app (Quick Pay code 102398).
