The new contract is to earn the 20 year-old defender £30,000-a-week.

Stones played a part of Roberto Martinez's campaign for Champions League qualification in the premier league last season and the club considered him worthy of the new contract.

The player joined the club in January 2013 on a five year deal, but the new deal which has a one year extension will now keep him in the club till 2019.
