Vasco Matos has been named the new head coach of Estoril, A BOLA understands. The 45-year-old tactician, who spent the last three seasons with Santa Clara, is embarking on a new challenge, taking over the reins at the "Canarinhos" and succeeding Ian Cathro, who moved to French side Saint-Étienne this summer.
Having previously served as an assistant at Casa Pia and as head coach for Alverca and Vilafranquense, Vasco Matos now accepts the Estoril challenge. Our newspaper has learned that he is already at the Amoreira club's facilities this Wednesday to finalize the agreement and sign a two-year contract.
The official announcement is expected in the coming hours, confirming the news exclusively reported by A BOLA on June 28th.
