Monaco announced on Monday the arrival of Brazilian coach Filipe Luís.
The coach, who was previously linked with Benfica, had an agreement with Monaco since May but required European equivalency for his coaching licenses.
Filipe Luís has now obtained his UEFA Pro license, allowing him to work without any restrictions (and potential penalties) at Monaco. It's worth noting that without the proper licenses, the club could have faced fines of approximately 28,000 euros for each match Filipe Luís sat on the bench.
This marks Filipe Luís's first experience as a head coach in Europe. The former left-back had been without a club since leaving Flamengo in March, where he had won both the Brasileirão and the Copa Libertadores.
Following two days dedicated to medical examinations and physical tests for the main squad, Filipe Luís will lead his first training session at Monaco's training center on Wednesday morning.
