Towns' Historic Triple-Double Ices the Hawks, Series Moves to Madison Square Garden All Square
The hero of this significant victory was Karl-Anthony Towns, who delivered a performance for the ages. The Knicks' center recorded his first career playoff triple-double with 20 points, ten rebounds, and ten assists.
With this achievement, Towns joined an elite group within the franchise, becoming only the fourth player in Knicks history to achieve such a feat in the postseason, alongside legends like Walt Frazier, Dick McGuire, and Josh Hart.
The Knicks left nothing to chance. They seized control midway through the first quarter and never looked back. By halftime, the scoreboard read an incredible 68:44, and the lead was routinely maintained at over 20 points throughout the third quarter.
Alongside Towns, OG Anunoby shone with 22 points, while the team's star player, Jalen Brunson, added 19. Brunson himself highlighted after the game that the key was the energy they carried over from the end of the previous encounter.
The key to triumph lay in their defense. Coach Mike Brown established a defensive wall that completely neutralized CJ McCollum.
Although McCollum was once again the Hawks' most effective player with 17 points, the Knicks held him without a single made three-pointer, after he had buried nine long-range shots in the first three games.
The series now returns to Madison Square Garden, where Game 5 will be played on Tuesday night.
