The 37-year-old Fury made his fourth career return from a previously announced boxing retirement, effortlessly defeating his Russian opponent, a year his junior, in London on Saturday night. After a full twelve rounds, the judges unanimously declared the Englishman the winner. Unlike sports such as tennis, boxing prize money is agreed upon beforehand, so Fury knew the value of his victory the moment the referee raised his arm.
Tyson Fury's Prize Money
While contracts are rarely made public, various English media outlets are confident about the figures involved for Fury and Makhmudov. Fury is set to receive over twenty million euros in his bank account. This is a substantial sum, but it pales in comparison to what he earned in his previous two fights. In 2024, he lost twice to Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk (Rico Verhoeven's next opponent), yet still became incredibly wealthy from those bouts.
Jackpots Against Usyk and Ngannou
Following their first encounter, Fury reportedly pocketed around 93 million euros, and for the lost rematch, he received another 86 million euros. His victorious bout against UFC legend Francis Ngannou in 2023 also proved highly lucrative, earning Fury nearly 46 million euros. These were absolute jackpots compared to the earnings from his comeback fight against Makhmudov.
Record Sum for Makhmudov
The 36-year-old Russian, however, will take home significantly less from the grueling fight with Fury. Nevertheless, Makhmudov will receive the largest single-fight payout of his career. In 2025, he earned approximately 300,000 euros after his victory over Dave Allen. But now, having had the opportunity to box a legend in a sold-out stadium and in front of hundreds of thousands of viewers at home, his earnings soared to around 2.2 million euros.
