Tottenham Rejects Forest's Opening Bid for Midfielder

Tottenham Hotspur has reportedly rejected a £38 million bid from Nottingham Forest for midfielder Lucas Bergvall, according to The Telegraph. The publication claims the Swedish midfielder is Forest's primary target to bolster their midfield following Elliot Anderson's departure. However, the North London club is unwilling to part with the player easily and will demand at least £50 million for his transfer. Reports emerged several weeks ago that Bergvall himself had requested to be sold.

The 20-year-old midfielder has established himself as a key player for the "Spurs" recently, enjoying a strong season with one goal and five assists in 33 appearances. However, he is said to be deeply disappointed by the club's aggressive recruitment in the midfield, which saw the swift arrivals of Matheus Fernandes from West Ham for £85 million and Sandro Tonali from Newcastle for over £100 million. Bergvall reportedly believes his opportunities for playing time next season will be severely limited and that a move to a team where he can play regularly would be more beneficial.
