Tottenham Hotspur has confirmed a setback in the recovery of midfielder Mohammed Kudus. The 25-year-old Kudus sustained an injury in a January match against Sunderland, when Thomas Frank was still at the helm for Tottenham. His return was initially anticipated for March. He has not featured in any games under Frank's successor, Igor Tudor, who himself departed the club last month.
According to reports from Ghanaian media, Kudus, who boasts 13 goals in 46 appearances for his national team, is now expected to be sidelined for an additional three months. This extended absence could potentially see him miss the World Cup this summer.
“We can confirm that Mohammed Kudus has experienced a delay in his injury recovery,” Tottenham's statement read, adding: “He resumed training earlier this week but will now require further assessment and potentially surgery.”
Kudus, who joined from West Ham, has made 19 Premier League appearances for Tottenham this season, contributing 2 goals and 5 assists.
