Spy On Your Kids With PSB Kids App

For kids these days, play time means screen time. Kids tend to spend most of their free time alone in isolation because they get carried away by "cool stuffs" they do online. This tends to be a major cause for concern to parents as they worry about what their kids do online, what influence the online activities have on the kids, how much time they spend on their monitors and a long endless list of worries.

That just got better.

PBS KIDS Super Vision is a new free app that helps parent control what their kids are up to online- at least on the PBS KIDS Site. This app helps parent take charge of their kids activities even away from home.

How it works

Parents enter a code from the website into their phones, and boom! They get to track activity on the site including how long their kids have been watching videos, playing games, which particular shows they watch, and more.

For kids that spend excess time online, TIME OUT! can be applied. Parents can set play timer that will limit the amount of time kids invest online. The timer ticks off when the set  time elapses and the app stops whatever the kid is doing online, thereby prompting another activity. Because the app is token based, you don’t have to be close by to monitor it.

In the demo given to WIRED, we gather the monitoring function was really well done. We’re looking forward to trying this one out.
