Turki Alalshikh has unveiled the full undercard for the highly anticipated boxing match between Oleksandr Usyk and Rico Verhoeven.
The reigning heavyweight boxing champion will face the legendary kickboxer in an unusual clash set against the backdrop of the Giza Pyramids in Egypt on May 23rd. While the main event will be contested for the WBC Heavyweight World Title, seven other intriguing bouts are scheduled to precede it. Three of these will be world title fights, adding significant weight to the undercard.
One of the highlights of the undercard will be the battle for the vacant WBO Super Middleweight title. This belt became available following Terence Crawford's retirement. Hamzah Sheeraz (23-0-1) will go head-to-head with Alem Begic (29-0-1) to determine the new champion in the 76kg division.
Prior to that, Jack Catterall (32-2) and Shakhram Giyasov (17-0) will step into the ring to compete for the WBA 'regular' Welterweight title. The winner of this encounter will secure a shot at the true WBA champion in the 66kg category, Rolly Romero, later in the year.
The program also features a bout for the WBO and Ring Magazine titles in the 'flyweight' category between Mizuki Hiruta (10-0) and Mai Soliman (10-1).
