This young pastor needs 270k for eye surgery

Another young Nigerian, Rotimi Sowemimo, is in dire need of financial assistance for him to undergo eye surgery to correct a defection that has been dampening his aspiration in becoming a full fledged pastor.

Sowemimo is therefore calling on kind-spirited Nigerians to help him raise the sum of N270,000 to enable him undergo surgery on his eyes to prevent him from going blind.

The 31-year-old Sowemimo has been having the problem that started as conjunctivitis, popularly called Apollo, 18 years ago and if he cannot undergo the surgery soon, the possibilities of him becoming totally blind looms large.

“It started as ‘Apollo.’ It affected my left eye for two months. I had to use eye drop. This stopped the pain and itching.

After some months, the eye started itching me again. I went to see an optician at Isolo General Hospital.

The doctor prescribed glasses for me. I used it for over three years, but the situation worsened.

I went back to the doctor. I was asked to carry out an x-ray which did not show any defect. I was directed to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), Idi-Araba, Mushin, Lagos. This was on July 26, 2012.

The doctor said that I had cataract in my right eye, which needed urgent surgery. He said the surgery will prevent my right eye from drying up. I was directed to Eye Foundation, Yaba, where I was told I had to go for surgery and the amount is N270, 000.

This is why I am pleading with Nigerians to help me raise the money for this surgery.

I have always dreamt of becoming a great pastor. I can see a bit with my right eye, but it is nothing like having the use of both eyes.

This problem did not stop me from my pastoring  career as I’m a member of the evangelism group in my church.
