These are the best restaurants in Africa according to world ranking

Three African restaurants were among The World’s 100 Best Restaurants in 2022.

These include the highest-placed Fyn Restaurant in Cape Town (37th), followed by Wolfgat, Paternoster, South Africa (50), and La Colombe, Cape Town, South Africa (81).

New entrant "Fyn Restaurant" was named the Best Restaurant in Africa. The restaurant, which is located in South Africa’s Cape Town, stood at 37th place overall.

Also, Kenyan social entrepreneur Wawira Njiru was named winner of the Icon Award!

Globally, the best restaurant in the world is Copenhagen's Geranium, according to the World's 50 Best Restaurants annual rankings.

The restaurant follows in the footsteps of fellow Danish eatery, Noma, which claimed the title last year. The rankings were announced on Monday at an awards show hosted by Stanley Tucci in London.

According to WOTHAPPEN Africa's food culture is diverse and delicious, offering both traditional dishes and innovative culinary creations.

Geranium has a somewhat usual location. After relocating from King's Garden in 2007, it set up shop in 2010 on the eighth floor of the city's national soccer stadium, overlooking Flledparken gardens.

Since opening its doors to the public, Geranium also became the first Danish restaurant to win three Michelin stars.
