Lamine Yamal's furious reaction at the end of Barcelona's dramatic 2-1 victory over Atlético Madrid is still a hot topic in the Spanish press.
As is widely known, Barcelona's prodigious talent didn't celebrate Robert Lewandowski's decisive late goal with much enthusiasm. After the final whistle, he stormed into the dressing room, reportedly inconsolable even by Hansi Flick.
"Mundo Deportivo" has now revealed the reason behind Yamal's anger. According to the Catalan publication, the young star's frustration at the Metropolitano Stadium was directed at José Ramón de la Fuente, Barcelona's goalkeeping coach and a key figure in the team's strategy. A DAZN video has since corroborated this information.
Lamine Yamal's outburst stemmed from an overload of information he received from a member of Flick's staff. The pressure on the young Barcelona gem intensified during the second half, and from the bench, de la Fuente reportedly criticized him for shooting at Atlético's goal in the 85th minute instead of passing.
At that moment, De la Fuente gestured and shouted at him from the dugout, which evidently infuriated Yamal. When coach Hansi Flick attempted to greet him, Barcelona's number ten pointed towards the goalkeeping coach, who was walking behind the player and followed him all the way to the tunnel leading to the changing rooms.
