Bulgaria's top enduro rider Teodor Kabakchiev has achieved a historic milestone for Bulgarian motorsport and national sports as a whole. The Sherco factory rider finished third in the world championship, the Bulgarian Motorcycle Federation reported.
At the Hard Enduro World Championship season finale in Spain, Kabakchiev was riding strongly on Sunday until a minor mechanical issue on a descent forced him to stop and make quick repairs to his bike. The Bulgarian crossed the line in seventh place, but it was enough to secure third in the overall standings and end the year ranked third in the world.
Following an eventful season full of twists, turns, and occasional administrative hurdles, Teo Kabakchiev made history for Bulgaria by cementing his spot among the top three hard enduro riders globally.
"After a year filled with great successes and tough challenges, we secured a championship podium at the end of the season! I thank God for keeping me healthy and safe! Thank you to Sherco Racing Factory for building a bike with such incredible capabilities!"
"Big thanks to the team: Corentin Pochez, Fabien Planet, Loris Pinaud, Jordan Curvalle, and Lorenzo Gandola. To my fiancée Mihaela Kirova. And to everyone who supported me throughout the year—both on and off the track. Also, a huge thank you to all the team sponsors!"
"Congratulations to Manuel Lettenbichler on capturing yet another world title. Hats off!" Kabakchiev posted on social media following the achievement.
