Tensions are boiling over in Seville after a group of disgruntled fans confronted the team with shouts and insults following their 1-0 defeat to bottom-of-the-table Oviedo.

Upon the team's arrival at San Pablo Airport, supporters reportedly yelled, "Get out! Get lost! Sons of b*tches, out!" at the players. Club president, Jose Maria del Nido Carrasco, also faced the fans' wrath, with chants of "Junior, die! Show your face, coward!" directed at him.

The unrest continued outside the club's training ground, where more fans, some with covered faces, gathered to demand answers from the players regarding their performance. "El Desmarque" reports that Sevilla's management called the police to de-escalate the situation and prevent more serious incidents.

Law enforcement officers had to form a cordon to protect the players as they left the facility.

Following the loss in Oviedo, Sevilla now sit just two points above the relegation zone. The team also boasts the weakest defense in La Liga, having conceded 50 goals in 30 matches. Currently, the Andalusian side has accumulated 31 points from 30 games played.

"The feeling is very bad. We want to apologize to the fans and thank everyone who traveled to support us. We couldn't achieve anything here, and it's a very tough loss... We have to get out of this situation all together. Now we have eight games left, and the new coaching staff will help us. We must be united, including for the fans, because they don't deserve this. I want to tell them that we will give our all in our next home match," admitted defender Kike Salas.
