As a matter of fact, the types of peers an adolescent keeps and interacts with, coupled with their unchecked excesses, plays a major role in the making of decisions whose consequences they are almost never prepared for.

Yes, the pressure from peers cannot be avoided. But with guidance and counseling, the temptation of wrong decisions can be checked and avoided.

2. Family relationship

When a teen has no heartfelt relationship with family, I.e when they have no one with whom to share concerns and discuss sensitive issues, they are usually left to rely on the opinions of inexperience.

And when this happens, as it is always the case, young girls become preys to boys with ill intentions. Although the intention might not necessarily be ill, the result will not let it be otherwise.

3. Depression

This unexplainable feeling of aloneness could easily betray one into the arms of an unscrupulous comforter, trading the appearance of a wolf for a sheep with the aim to deceive their unsuspecting victims.

Their comfort makes it all the more easy for the sufferer to be victimized.

Parents and guardians should take it as a duty to be there for their girls when their quietness becomes so loud. Otherwise, the unexpected might be the case.

4. Lack of sex education

This is where mothers need to take their rightful place in the life of their daughters. There should be no shying away from this fact. Because a teen that is ignorant in matters of sex can easily be misguided.

So, in other reduce the growing trend of teenage pregnancy, the female child must be educated on the topic of sex ( especially the disadvantages of unprotected sex). And the male teen should not be left out from this schooling as well.

For the right knowledge, once instilled, can help guide them in the making of decisions.

5. Environment

If we can be sincere with ourselves, we will agree with ease that most of our environment is not good for raising children. In fact, they are detrimental to their mental state.

An environment that sees nothing wrong with underage sex cannot influence the teen positively. Such environment is like a dark rooms that encourage the act.

In conclusion, we cannot afford to be unwatchful of the lives and choices of the future generation. If there has ever been a time for us to get involved with their activities, then the time is now.
