Teacher sentenced to life imprisonment for defiling pastor’s 10-yr-old daughter in Ondo
Omotayo Adanlawo, a school teacher has been sentenced to life imprisonment by an Ondo State High Court in Akure for defiling a 10-year-old girl.
The victim according to The Punch is a daughter of the founder of a church which the convict attended in the community.
Adanlawo was reported to have committed the crime and was arrested at Iju town, in the Akure North Local Government Area of the state in 2018.
Before the judgement by Justice Samuel Bola, the convict was said to have been facing the trial for over two years while witnesses had been called to testify on the matter.
But after a series of arguments between the prosecuting and defence counsels, Justice Bola ruled that the defendant was unable to prove his innocence in the matter beyond a reasonable doubt.
The trial judge also said that Adanlawo failed to give convincing evidence and testimony to prove his innocence. He, therefore, sentenced him to life imprisonment.
