Swansea to complete signing of Nigerian-born striker

The 19-year-old was also pursued by Newcastle United but Swansea have won the race to sign him.

According to , the paperwork on the deal has not been finalised but Swansea are confident that they can complete the deal this week.

Swansea City manager Paul Clement is very familiar with Abraham who he's worked with during his time the youth and senior teams at Chelsea.

Swansea City are working towards two major signings to bolster their squad after they narrowly avoided the drop to the Championship last season.

Abraham is currently with the England U-21 squad at the ongoing European Championships.

Full name Kevin Oghenetega Tamaraebi Bakumo-Abraham, the striker was born in London to a Nigerian father.

The striker who is still eligible to play for the Super Eagles of Nigeria has in the past been contacted by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) who is also keeping an eye on him.

His dad is a close friend of NFF boss Amaju Pinnick.
