Super Eagles: Moses Simon reveals how deadline day Premier League move failed
Super Eagles winger Moses Simon has admitted he was contacted by Premier League side Leeds United on transfer deadline day. Recall on deadline day, Pulse Sports reported that Leeds United were lining up a move for an electric wide man.
Simon has been in fine form for FC Nantes this season having been involved in eight goals in 16 matches for the Ligue 1 outfit this season. His stock would have increased following his standout performances for the Super Eagles in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The player confirmed, that his form caught the attention of the Premier League but Nantes blocked the move.
“Yes, it is true, my agent told me about some offers among all is Leeds United who came calling with a strong offer and well intention of sealing the deal immediately. He told ckdmedia.
Moses however does not seem disgruntled about the collapse of the deal and is focused on the task at hand.
“My club wants me to finish the season with FC Nantes and I really want to contribute my own quota to ensure we secure Europa league ticket at the end of the season, we are pushing hard for that." the former Gent man said.
Simon will be preparing for Nantes' trip to Strasbourg on Sunday, February 6 in the French Ligue 1.
