The
21 players on Monday arrived Uyo ahead of their 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) clash against South Africa on Saturday, June 10.
In the evening after their arrivals, the players gathered to initiate new members who have just been invited to the squad.
Mikel Agu, Ibrahim Alhassan, Victor Osimhen and Henry Onyekuru were made to stand in front of their new teammates and sing.
In a video posted by midfielder John Ogu on Twitter, Onyekuru was the first to introduce himself to his teammates before announcing that it was his birthday.
“I’m 20 today,” he said to cheers from teammates who sang the happy birthday song to him.
The forward who is reportedly on the verge of joining Arsenal then danced in front of the Super Eagles players.
Akwa United’s Alhassan was next and the striker also danced to a Nigerian song in front of his teammates.
In the night of fun and laughter, VfL Wolfsburg’s Osimhen was mocked by his teammates after he seemed to forget the name of the club he plays for during his introduction.
The 18-year-old chose to perform a ‘Rara’ by Tekno in front of his teammate.
Portugal based Agu started off his initiation by thanking Super Eagles boss Gernot Rohr for giving him an invitation.
He also danced in front of his teammates for his initiation.
