Osimhen is set to return to action soon for Napoli as he prepares to face four other Super Eagles players within five days

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen is expected to make a quick recovery from injury in time for key clashes for Italian Serie A side Napoli.

The Nigerian international picked up a knock in his adductor during their shock victory over Liverpool on Matchday 1 of their UEFA Champions League Group A fixtures.

The injury ruled out Osimhen from fixtures against Spezia, Rangers, and AC Milan as well as Nigeria's upcoming friendly against the Desert Foxes of Algeria.

However, the 23-year-old striker is reported to be making a speedy recovery from his injury and is in line to make a quick comeback to the Napoli squad.

According to Italian news outlet Tutto Napoli, the Nigerian striker is set to return to action immediately after the international break on Matchday 3 of the UEFA Champions League.

Napoli will play away at the Johan Cruyff Arena against Calvin Bassey's Ajax Amsterdam on Tuesday, October 4 where Osimhen is expected to get some minutes.

However, the former Lille player is expected to be fully fit by Sunday, October 9 when Napoli will visit Cremonese with a clash between Osimhen and fellow Nigerian strikers Cyriel Dessers and David Okereke on the cards.

Tutto Napoli provided an update on Osimhen's injury recovery: "We will have to wait a little longer to see Osimhen on the pitch, with the hope of using him for a few minutes on 4 October in Amsterdam in the Champions League against Ajax and certainly from the first minute on 9 October at Cremonese's home."

Osimhen will hope to make a scoring return for Napoli to underscore his importance to the squad with the Luciano Spalletti-led side having secured three consecutive victories in his absence.

The Super Eagles talisman has bagged two (2) goals and one (1) assist in six matches for Napoli so far this season.
