The home-based Super Eagles for the first time reached the final of CHAN where they were beaten 4-0 by host Morocco.

With their participation, the NFF are expected to received a sum from CAF.

Several reports on various media outlets quoted the N270m as the sum the NFF will be getting.

CAF have, however, released the official amount, confirming that the NFF will be getting N144m and not the exaggerated amount in circulation.

The official figures show that the host country and eventual winners of the competition Morocco are entitled to a total sum of N270m ($750,000), N144m for silver medallists Nigeria and N90m ($250,000) for bronze medallists Libya.

All four teams that did not progress to the semi-final (Namibia, Zambia, Angola and Congo) will pocket N63m ($175,000) each.

Teams that finished third in the group will get N45m ($125,000), while teams that finished bottom of the group will get N36m ($100,000) for their participation.

“CAF has spread the monies in such a way that each of the 16 participating teams at the finals would benefit. No team has received its share yet, but once the finance and audit people conclude their work in a number of weeks, the teams would be paid," Amaju Pinnick, president of the NFF said in a statement.

According to the statement, the CHAN squad will get only 30% of the allocated money which is N43m and should receive their share in the coming weeks.
