Assistant coach of the Super Eagles, Salisu Yusuf has revealed that the home based players will not be taking their second leg of their African Nations Championship qualifiers against Burkina Faso lightly.

The home based Super Eagles on Saturday, October 17 beat Burkina Faso 2-0 in Port Harcourt.

Goals from Bature Yaro and Gbolahan Salami were enough to take a two goal lead to the second leg but But Yusuf is refusing to get carried away by the victory.

“We already told the players what we want and they are aware that we can only jubilate after the return leg in Ouagadougou,” Yusuf told .

“They have been told that there is still so much to play for and that they must ensure that the boast of the Burkina Faso coach does not come to pass.

“They played very well against us but our boys too did their best and would have scored more goals with a little luck,” he concluded.

Nigeria will depart for the important second leg game against Burkina Faso on October 22, two days before the game, has learnt.

The game will be holding on Saturday October 24, 2015 and coach Sunday Oliseh is expected to pick 18 players from the 23 in camp as they attempt to record a double against the West African side.

Nigeria will be looking to book their place in Rwanda 2016 for their second appearance at the biennial football showpiece.

The Super Eagles finished third in their debut appearance in South Africa with Ejike Uzoenyi winning the best player’s award.
