Sporting's squad held another training session this Wednesday morning at the Cristiano Ronaldo Academy. Greek forward Fotis Ioannidis followed the same regimen as the previous day, splitting his time between the gym and the pitch due to muscular complaints—primarily in his lower back—a consequence of returning to competition after a prolonged absence last season.

Despite this, the athlete is expected to be available for Saturday's Liga match against Alverca, which is the third fixture of the season. However, the final decision will be a collaborative one, integrating the player's own assessment, the technical staff's evaluation led by Rui Borges, and input from the Performance Unit. To manage the Greek player's workload, the coach might opt to start Luis Suárez as the most advanced player on the field.

Nuno Santos and João Simões remain sidelined, both undergoing recovery from their respective injuries. The midfielder is anticipated to return in early September, while the left-footed player does not yet have a concrete date for his return to action.
The green and white team will conduct another preparatory training session this Thursday morning, ahead of hosting the Ribatejo side.
