According to Sportal Bulgaria, Karaičić has arrived in Botevgrad and is set to be unveiled on Friday morning as the new head coach of Balkan, a team that has received a one-year wild card to compete in Europe's second-tier basketball competition.

With Bogdan Karaičić's arrival, Balkan is expected to begin serious squad selection for the new season, where the team harbors significant ambitions.

Karaičić, 41, already boasts extensive experience as an assistant coach. He began his coaching career in 2009, working with the junior team of Danish club Hørsholm. At the same club, he progressed to assistant coach and then head coach. In 2013, he took over another Danish team, Næstved, where he remained until 2016.

A period followed where Karaičić primarily served as an assistant coach – at Lokomotiv Kuban (where he was also interim coach in 2019), Crvena Zvezda, Mega, and finally Partizan.

He garnered public attention as an assistant to Željko Obradović, helping Partizan secure a Superleague title before venturing into a head coaching role. However, his stint at Aris was short-lived, with Karaičić departing after a disappointing start to last season.
