Rayo must close their south stand for their next home league clash against Elche on October 24. The disciplinary committee also warned the club that any repeat of such incidents could result in a full stadium closure. LaLiga has yet to announce when the remainder of the match against Bilbao will be played.

Last Saturday's fixture at the Vallecas stadium was halted by the referee after fans disrupted play three times by throwing paper planes, rubber balls, and other small objects onto the pitch. Supporters staged a fierce protest against the management of club president Raul Martin Presa, as well as the deteriorating state of the stadium and training facilities.
