The order was handed down by Chief Magistrate B.O Ope-Agbe, who said the accused should be remanded in Ikoyi Prisons, pending the release of legal advice from the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).

Oniyide who is facing a-count charge of murder, according to the prosecutor, Sergeant Jimah Iseghede, had allegedly committed the offence on February 5 at 3, Olubunmi Christopher Street, Abule-Egba area of the state, where he stabbed his mother, Mrs. Taiwo Oniyide, 50, to death with a kitchen knife following a disagreement.

The case has been adjourned to March 8, pending legal advice from the DPP.
