England controlled the first half but could not find and equaliser until another Nigerian-born player Sheyi Ojo was introduced in the game.

It was Ojo’s brilliant cross which was half-cleared by the Italian goalkeeper that Solanke pounced on to equalise for England.

Another player of Nigerian descent, Lookman put England in the lead six minutes later with Ojo also involved.

Ojo’s cross from the right landed on Lookman’s foot and the Everton youngster controlled the ball calmly before slamming the ball home.

Solanke sealed the win with a low drive which skidded across the surface to evade Italy goalkeeper.
