Sheffield United humiliate Man City's legend Kompany's Burnley in 7-goal thriller
It was a destruction at Bramall Lane for Manchester City legend Vincent Kompany and his Burnley side in the Championship on Saturday afternoon.
Kompany's Clarets lost their 17-game unbeaten run following a 5-2 defeat to an in-form Sheffield United.
Jack Robinson went from zero to hero while Oliver McBurnie was the obvious man of the match after he was involved in three of the five goals for United.
An own goal from Robinson and Manuel's Benson's 45th minute goal to restore the lead after Iliman Ndiaye equalised for United gave Kompany's side a 2-1 lead at the break.
United turn on style in the second half
In the second half, it was the home side Sheffield who went on a rampage inspired by striker McBurnie.
The Scotman scored within three minutes of the second half to draw United level at 2-2.
And after the hour mark, Robinson redeemed himself when netted a third goal to put the host in front for the first time.
3-2 quickly became 4-2 four minutes later as Anel Ahmedhodzic, who assisted the third goal, added a fourth for Sheffield to put the game beyond Kompany and his players.
There would be another goal five minutes later as Sheffield made it 5-2 through that man, McBurnie, to complete the remarkable turn around.
Kompany's Burnley lose 17-game unbeaten run
It was a disastrous day at the office for the Manchester City legend and his boys.
The result at Bramall Lane saw the Clarets lose their incredible 17-game unbeaten run in all competitions.
Burnley came into the game looking to extend the run and their grip at the top of the table. But in the end, it was Sheffield who produced an excellent display to bring the Premier League legend back down to earth.

In terms of what the result means for both teams, the Clarets remain top of the table despite the heavy, three points clear of their conquerors, United, who have game in hand.
