Arsenal suffered a 2-1 defeat to Bournemouth at the Emirates, a result that now offers Manchester City a golden opportunity to close the gap with just seven Premier League fixtures remaining.
In light of this, Alan Shearer sounded the alarm for Mikel Arteta's squad, emphasizing that they have no room for inconsistency if they hope to stay in the title race.
“If they continue to play like this, they will fail; they will destroy everything they’ve built. They were poor today in every aspect. No energy, they looked weak, vulnerable, and very, very nervous,” the legendary former player stated emphatically.
“The whole place seemed nervous. Given they haven't won it (the league) for so long, I can perhaps understand it, but they need to overcome this, otherwise, they will squander the opportunity,” added the Premier League's all-time leading scorer.
