Shane Warne suffers from hand playing for MCC

Shane Warne suffered a broken hand after being struck by a beamer from former Australia team-mate Brett Lee at Lord's on Saturday.

The legendary leg spinner was captaining the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) in a match against a Rest of the World XI to celebratory the 200th birthday of the famous London ground known as 'the home of cricket when he sustained the injury.

Warne was unable to field after an X-ray confirmed the break, which was suffered when he was unable to avoid a quick delivery from pace bowler Lee.

The 44-year-old Tweeted: "Sad news, X ray shows a broken hand !!! Very disappointing not to be out there playing. Thankyou for all your kind messages...."

Yuvraj Singh top scored with 132 as the Rest of the World XI made 293-7 from their 50 overs, despite an impressive spell from Saeed Ajmal (4-45).
