The protracted move of Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea to Real Madrid has taken another twist.

If the 24-year-old goalkeeper moves to the Bernabeu, Real Madrid defender, Sergio Ramos could move the other way to Manchester United as part of a swoop deal.

29-year-old Ramos has a two  years left on his contract but is reportedly unsettled at Real Madrid.

The FIFA World Cup winner with Spain is said to be unhappy that Real have allowed his contract to run down to the final two years and seem reluctant to meet his demands for a new deal worth £140,000-a-week.

United according to reports have told Real Madrid that they want the defender if they are to allow De Gea to move to Spain.

According to United are determined to let go of De Gea without a fight and have mounting what club insiders have described as ‘an aggressive counter'.

Manchester United also reportedly pursuing the signing of Valencia centre-back Nicolas Otamendi and  Bayern Munich midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger.
