San Antonio were in complete control throughout at the American Airlines Arena to be just a win away from a fifth championship and first since 2007.

Spurs can wrap up the series at their AT&T Center home on Sunday, while they will also host game seven if required.

It is the first time in NBA Finals history that a team have won two consecutive road games by 15-plus points in a single series.

The win snapped Miami's 13-game streak of victories following a play-off loss and their chances of a comeback are slim, with teams who have gone 3-1 down in the Finals being 0-31 in those series.

And it was another even team display that set up the win as all 13 Spurs players managed to score.

Kawhi Leonard led the way in the scoring department as he contributed 20 points to go with his 14 rebounds.

Tony Parker (19 points) and Patty Mills (14 in 16 minutes) were strong, while Tim Duncan continued his consistent series with a double-double of 10 points and 11 rebounds.

LeBron James scored a game-high 28 points for the Heat, who collected just 27 rebounds to the Spurs' 44.

Dwyane Wade went three-of-13 from the field to finish with 10 points, while Chris Bosh scored 12.

The Spurs opened with a 13-4 run and held a nine-point lead at the end of the first quarter and were 55-36 ahead at half-time.

There was never going to be any way back for Miami, who desperately need a turnaround in form if they are to keep the series alive on Sunday.
