I finally got the opportunity to see and try out Samsung's Wireless Charger after months and months of hearing about it.

Here is my opinion.

The Technology- I absolutely love the idea of charging my devices without the frustration that comes with tangled wires and or having to worry about lost charging cables. Also, it comes with a built-in LED indicator light that alerts you if the device is not properly aligned and when a good charge alignment is acquired. When your device is properly aligned and charging, LED lights up blue, it turns green once your device is fully charged.

The Design- Samsung is known for always trying to stand out and the pod does exactly that. The pod has this stylish and futuristic feel. Despite the circular shape, it is still sleek, meaning it is not bulky and can be carried around.

Multiple Compatibility- Although, mostly associated with S6 and S6 Edge, i  found out that the Samsung Wireless Charging Pad is compatible with all Qi-enabled devices from Samsung: Galaxy S4, Galaxy S5, Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Note Edge and Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy S6 edge+ and Galaxy Note5.

There is no denying that this is a really cool thing, however, it has a few issues.

  • A lot of people have complained that you have to line your phone up perfectly in order to initiate the charging process. This can be frustrating when you are in a hurry.
  • It is not suitable for overnight charging- the pod stops charging your phone once hits 100%, meaning that the phone just sits there and drains itself until you pick the phone up and replace it. So, you are most likely to wake up to a low battery.

Despite these few bugs that can be fixed, just the idea of charging your phone wirelessly alone is a worth a thumbs up.

The Samsung Wireless Charger scores 8.5/10 for me.
