Korean tech giant to take on Gorilla Glass with its own 'Turtle Glass'
A very large majority of smartphones that are in the market today sport Gorilla Glass which is made by Corning but it seems Samsung is working on something else.
According to Geeky Gadgets, even though Samsung has been using Gorilla Glass in its devices for some time now, the company has registered some new trademarks for the word ‘Turtle’ and ‘Turtle Glass’.
The report further reveals that the trademark filing was submitted to the Korean Intellectual Patent Office and the filing covers glass for smartphones, tablets, music players, cameras, navigation systems and other devices.
There are no details yet as to when Turtle Glass will be used on a Samsung device, but there has been speculation that it could be in Samsung’s Galaxy S7 smartphone which is expected to drop next year.
