The chief coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria, Salisu Yusuf has been linked with a return to his former side, Kano Pillars.

Yusuf led Pillars to the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) title in 2008 before returning again in 2010 to qualify them for the CAF Champions League.

The 54-year-old coach is currently the Chief Coach of the Super Eagles where he acts as the assistant to the Technical Adviser, Gernot Rohr.

According to , Salisu is reportedly close to returning to Pillars again to replace Baba Ganaru who resigned after leading the Kano-based side to seventh in the just concluded NPFL season.

Pillars are looking to get Yusuf in a bid to make a proper title challenge next season.

Yusuf has managed the likes of Nasarawa United, Enyimba and El-Kanemi Warriors.
