Manchester City captain Ruben Dias has revealed how the squad reacted after the club was found guilty of financial breaches covering the period between 2009 and 2018. The "Cityzens'" actions allowed them to make marquee signings with fewer restrictions and offer substantial wages, which attracted many top players to the club.

"When the news broke, we felt that as soon as we returned from international duty, we had to have a talk. We did, and we are all pulling in the same direction. It happened at a time when we weren't together, but we quickly got in touch with one another and found calm," Dias said.

The Portuguese international also discussed his role during this challenging period as team captain: "I am here alongside the other three captains, as well as the rest of the squad. We will defend the club, we will fight for it, and we believe in the club."
